Brian Sheehan

National Sales Manager

Brian was born and raised in western NY and he left their notoriously cold, long winters for the sun and sand of south Florida in 1977.

Brian has been an active boater since his arrival in Florida. He first joined the boating industry with Fortress Marine Anchors in 1997, where he was responsible for their customer service and sales & marketing departments for over 20 years.

Brian learned firsthand the importance and value of providing superb customer service, and he implemented a company slogan, “It is not enough that we satisfy customers, we must also amaze them!”

During his time with Fortress, they were able to trademark a phrase “The World’s Best Anchors,” and that bold statement compelled Brian and the team at Fortress to stand strongly behind the product when promoting its high-performance capabilities and their customer support.

In 2014 Brian set up the Chesapeake Bay anchor holding power test aboard the 81-ft “Rachel Carson” research vessel out of Solomons Island, MD and he invited aboard the boating media, who represented magazines & web sites with over 1 million readers, to witness the results.

This was the most extensive and widely-reported test of its kind that has ever been conducted on pleasure craft anchors in the boating industry, and a much lighter Fortress out-performed the 10 other competitive anchor models by a significant margin.

Prior to Fortress, Brian worked for a Miami-based developer of Geographic Information System (GIS) software and he’s always had a very active interest in emerging technologies.

This interest led Brian to join the Dockmate team in April of last year, as he firmly believes that this highly-advanced wireless remote control product is yet another important piece of safety equipment aboard a boat, particularly when visibility is difficult during docking maneuvers.

Brian enjoys his free time on the water with his wife and three children.
